Politburo member Lê Hồng Anh extends Christmas greetings in HCMC

Politburo Member and Permanent Member of the Central Party Committee’s Secretariat Lê Hồng Anh visited the Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese on December 15 to extend warm Christmas wishes.

He met with Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc of Ho Chi Minh Diocese, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam.

Joining his visit were Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hà, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Ho Chi Minh city Party Committee, and Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs.

Politburo member Lê Hồng Anh wished Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc and Catholics in the diocese a merry Christmas. He also expressed his belief that the Archbishop would encourage Catholics to take part in activities beneficial to both the Church and country, and to well comply with the law.

On behalf of Catholic priests and followers, Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc expressed his sincere thanks to the authorities for facilitating religious activities of the Catholic Church and other religions in general. He affirmed that the church would continue to promote the spirit of unity, contributing to national construction and defense.
