The Yen Tu festival is a biggest festival in the Northern which opens on 10th day of the Lunar New Year and usually lasts for 3 months.
This year the number of tourists flock to Yen Tu was estimated at over 2 million. Most visitors appreciate the work of the festival organization and management of donation boxes.
Three cable car stations of Giai Oan, Hoa Yen and An Ky Sinh has been operating at full capacity. The number of visitors was very high in early days of the year, some time peaked 100,000 a day.
This year, Quang Ninh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee has completed the restoration and renovation of items: One Roof temple, Dragon Eye, Thap To worshipping place... Especially, Hue Quang tower, where the relics of Buddhist Emperor Trần Nhân Tông being kept iaa s hot spot in the Yen Tu pagodas system.
Dong (Bronze) pagoda is situated on top of Yen Tu mountain. The 3.35m high, 4.6m long and 3.6m wide pagoda was cast by 70 tons of pure bronze in 2007. The temple looks like a lotus throne, worshiping the Buddha Sakyamuni and three Patriarchs of Truc Lam. A highlight of Yen Tu relics site is the Buddhist Emperor Trần Nhân Tông statue on An Ky Sinh mountain, it’s a key attraction at the 800-year-old Buddhist site.
