Bùi Thị Minh Hoài, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of the Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization, wished Catholics in the Diocese of Xuan Loc in the southern province of Dong Nai a merry Christmas during a visit to the diocese's bishop office on December 20.
Hoài stated the Communist Party of Vietnam, since its formation, has always paid attention to the religious communities and issued many policies to ensure people’s freedom of religion and belief.
The Party’ leadership and the contributions of people from all walks of life, including Catholics, have helped to enhance the nation’s prestige and position over the years, she added.
She praised local Catholics for their donations to the national COVID-19 vaccine fund and thousands of tons of food in support of people in quarantine areas.
Hoài hoped in time to come, Catholic dignitaries and followers in Dong Nai will continue to comply with the policies and law of the Party and State and actively engage in patriotic campaigns initiated by the central and local authorities.
Informing the official on the local Catholics’ serious compliance to pandemic prevention measures and contributions to the fight against COVID-19, Bishop Đỗ Văn Ngân expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Party and State toward the Xuan Loc Diocese, which he hoped to be sustained in the future.
