The event was led by Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho diocese and Priest General Vicar Paul Trần Kỳ Minh, and joint by large numbers of priests, clergymen, clergywomen and Catholics in the diocese.

During the event, eight seminarians of the diocese graduating from Joseph Seminary in Ho Chi Minh City were formally ordained as deacons of the diocese (including two deacons from Tien Giang, two deacons from Long An and four deacons from Dong Thap).
