Nearly 1,000 pastors, commissioned pastors, evangelists and key followers of local congregations under the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) attended the opening ceremony of the Church’s religious training 2016 held on November 15 in Hanoi.
Distinguished guests at the ceremony also included Executive Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee Lê Bá Trình.

During the religious training’s opening ceremony, GCRA leader presented an official document certifying the establishment of the ECVN (North) on April, 12 1955. According to the legal document, the ECVN (North) was recognized in 1958 by the State of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam), making it the first religious organization established and recognized in the country.
The ECVN’s annual training program will last until November 18, and marked by the ordination of 54 new pastors of the Evangelical Church, most of whom are ethnic minorities from Vietnam’ northern mountainous region.
