08/12/2016

Together with women in Ninh Binh province, women Catholics in the province have proactively participated in the Women Union’s campaigns and movements.

Through these women campaign and movements, many Catholic women become good examples in leading a happy life in the family.

According to Head of the Women Association in the province Nguyễn Thị Tỉnh, for the past year, Catholic women have actively joint in movements for developing good models in their family and parish, as well as for creating fine cultural lifestyles in the locality, contributing to build ‘the better secular and religious life’.

Mrs. Trần Thị Liên has been regarded as one of typical Catholic women in Ninh Binh province. She got married over 20 years ago and she has faced and overcome many difficulties in her family life. She shared “Given my family conditions, I have no choice but try to overcome difficulties”. She has arranged proper times between social works and family responsibilities for solving issues and problems one by one, including improving her family income, better educating her children.

She set her mind that the family woman must be a spiritual platform and proactively take charge in the family work without avoiding and leaving it to the husband.

For social works, Mrs. Trần Thị Liên was elected as head of the women association in the village from 2001-2006, and from 2006 onward, she became deputy head, then head, of the management board of Nam Thanh market. In addition, she has actively taken part in community activities for improving material and spiritual life of local women, strengthening unity and contributing to security and order in the locality.

For her outstanding family achievements and social contributions, Mrs. Trần Thị Liên has received many certificates of merit from local authorities for many consecutive years, and her family has been honored by the provincial Woman Union as one of typical Catholic families for 2012-2016 period.

To well perform women roles as the wife and mother in the family, many Catholic women in the Ninh Binh province have set good examples in maintaining harmony in the family, educating children, caring the elderly, preserving and promoting family traditions.  These outstanding Catholic women include Mrs. Phạm Thị Lan in Yen Khanh District’s Khanh Thanh Commune, Mrs. Bùi Thị Thu Hà in Kim Son District’s Quang Thien Commune, Mrs. Đinh Thị Sử in Nho Quan District’s Duc Long Commune, Mrs. Đỗ Thị Én in Yen Khanh District’s Khanh Phu Commune, etc.

For Catholic women elected as heads of villages, many of them have well performed both community and family roles.  Some of them have also successfully improved the family economy and become good examples, including Mrs. Trịnh Thị Lương in Gia Vien District’s Gia Lap Commune, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Hiền in Kim Son District’s Tan Thanh Commune and Mrs. Đinh Thị Luyến from Yen Khanh District’s Khanh Van Commune.

In addition, there’re also a number of Catholic women who successfully run family businesses that have not only helped improving their family income but also created employment opportunities for many youth from poor families in the locality. Typical examples of these women Catholics are Mrs. Đặng Thị Yến from Tam Diep City’s Tan Binh Ward, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Ánh in Yen Mo District’s Yen Thinh Town, Mrs. Phạm Thị Mai in Kim Son District’s Kim Tan Commune, etc.
