Nghe An province: work starts on Can Linh pagoda

The construction of Can Linh pagoda in Vinh city was kicked off at a ceremony held on April 6.

Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the locality.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Đinh Thị Lệ Thanh and local authorities’ representatives also joint Buddhists in the event.

Can Linh pagoda was built in the ninth century with its first name as Linh Van Tu. With its history and glorious achievements, in 1992, Can Linh pagoda was classified as a national historic site.

The pagoda will be reconstructed with a total investment of over 60 billion VND with facilities including Three Jewels worshipping building, ancestral worshiping house, bell and drum towers, triple gate,…
