The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued on March 6 a decision for recognizing the new rice festival of Bru – Van Kieu ethnic people in Le Thuy district’s Ngan Thuy commune of Quang Binh province as the national intangible cultural heritage.
The festival bearing historical and cultural values of Bru – Van Kieu ethnic group features spiritual rituals to praying for a good season, bumper crops and a happy life.
As reported, Quang Binh province has promoted exhibitions and performances of the new rice festival of Bru – Van Kieu ethnic group in Quang Binh museum and other cultural events, with the aim to introduce the festival to more people and gather experiences for the cultural heritage conservation work in the province.
