New Catholic church to be built in Hai Duong

Tan Kim parish under Hai Phong diocese located in Hai Duong city solemnly held the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of its church on December 7.

The ceremony was presided over by Bishop of Hai Phong diocese Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên and attended by large numbers of priests and Catholic followers.

Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Như Độ was also present at the ceremony.

The Tan Kim original wooden church was built in 1906. The new church once completed will better serve the religious needs of currently over 1,400 followers in the parish. It will be built according to the model of  Notre-Dame Cathedral in Ho Chi Minh city.
