The ceremony was presided over by Auxiliary Bishop of Vinh Diocese Peter Nguyễn Văn Viên and attended by Catholic priests and followers from Dien Truong Parish and neighboring parishes in the locality, as well as representatives of local authorities.

First religious meeting in new church

Due to regular flood happened to the original church of the Catholic community, the provincial authorities approved for Chay Catholic sub-parish to relocate its church in 2015. After more than two years of construction, the new church has been completed with a modern architecture of 42mx17.5m in size and its steeple of 30m high.

Chay Catholic community under Huong Phuong Deanery of Vinh Diocese located in Ba Don district’s Quang Son commune was established in 2006 and currently has 129 households with 650 followers.
