That Tinh Sub-parish under Hai Phong Diocese’s Chap Khe Parish in Quang Ninh province’s Uong Bi city inaugurated its new church at a ceremony held on July 15.
The ceremony saw the participation of Priest Vicar General of Hai Phong Diocese Joseph Nguyễn Văn Thông, priests from Catholic parishes under the diocese, and representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs and Uong Bi city’s authorities.
The original church of That Tinh Sub-parish was built in 1932 and seriously degraded after many decades of existence. The new church was started its construction in May, 2015, and completed after more than three years on a total area of 176m2 with an estimated cost of over VND 2 billion.
That Tinh Catholic Sub-parish of Hai Phong Diocese currently has 50 households with over 200 followers.
