Thien An Charitable Centre in Ha Tinh province’s Huong Khe district was solemnly inaugurated at a ceremony held on November 25 in Trang Luu Catholic parish under Ngan Sau deanery.
Attending the ceremony included Auxiliary Bishop Nguyễn Văn Viên, Priest Bùi Đình Cao of Vinh Thanh Major Seminary, priests of Ngan Sau vicariate, clergymen, clergywomen and a large numbers of Catholic followers inside and outside the deanery.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Đào Văn Hải and representatives from local authorities of 22 communes and towns of Huong Khe district.
The centre was founded by Priest John Baptist Nguyễn Huy Tuấn with the aim to take care of the elderly and orphans.
The centre construction was started in May 2014 and completed with a total cost of over four billion VND. This is the second centre established by Priest Nguyễn Huy Tuấn to take care of the disadvantaged in Huong Khe district. The first center was built in 2010 in Tho Hoang parish (My Phuong commune, Huong Khe district), and currently takes care of more than 30 disabled people, elderly by the sisters of Lovers of the Cross Order.
Speaking at the ceremony, Priest Nguyễn Huy Tuấn expressed thanks to local authorities and people for their due attention and support for the construction of the centre.
In his speech at the event, Vice Chairman Đào Văn Hải praised priest Nguyễn Huy Tuấn’s role and effort in the construction of the charitable centre. He also pledged to create favorable condition for activities of the centre.
