Lien Thanh Pagoda located in Long Hiep commune of Tra Vinh province’s Tra Cu district was formally established at a solemn ceremony held on May 9-10.
The event was held by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in the southern province.
As reported, the new pagoda, the 119th Mahayana Buddhist temple in Tra Vinh, would serve Buddhist practices by over 300 Mahayana Buddhists in Long Hiep commune. Its land was donated by Mr. Trương Văn Tuấn and Mrs. Trần Thị Hạnh in Cho village of the commune.
During the ceremony, the executive committee of the VBS in the province announced the establishment decision of Lien Thanh pagoda and assigned Nun Thích nữ Thiên Thuận to manage the pagoda and guide Buddhist practices for lay Buddhists in the pagoda.

On the occasion, Nun Thích nữ Thiên Thuận presented 300 gift sets to poor locals and children from disadvantaged families in Long Hiep commune.
