New Buddhist pagoda inaugurated in Phan Rang – Thap Cham

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive board in Phan Rang – Thap Cham City, Ninh Thuan province solemnly held on March 28 a ceremony for the inauguration of Tan Loc pagoda.

Attending the ceremony included Most Venerable Member of the VBS Central Discernment Council Thích Đồng Tâm, members of the provincial Buddhist executive committee and the VBS’s executive board in Phan Rang – Thap Cham city, monks, nuns from the VBS’s executive board of districts in the province and about 500 local Buddhists.

Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Tấn Thuyên was amongst local guests at the event.

On the occasion, Nun Thích Nữ Chơn Quyền was formally appointed as the new abbess of the pagoda. Speaking at the event, Nun Thích Nữ Chơn Quyền expressed thanks to local authorities and Buddhists for their support extended to the construction of the pagoda. The nun also stated to promote her new role in guiding local Buddhists to uphold fine traditions and practice the religion in accordance with the VBS’s Charter and the State’s laws.
