New bridges built with Buddhist support inaugurated in Western region

A Tuong Nguyen Zen charity group led by Senior Venerable Thích Minh Phú, Vice Chairman of the social charities board Vietnam Buddhist Sangha chapter in Ho Chi Minh city, Abbot of Tuong Nguyen pagoda located in the city’s district No. 4 on March 7 organized a charity program in the Western region.  

In Vinh Long province, the charity group handed over one Tuong Nguyen charity house and Tuong Nguyen bridge No. 342 in Hoa Ninh commune, Long Ho district. The new bridge has 18 meters long, 2.8 meters wide, with a total investment of 195 million VND.

In Tien Giang, the group also handed over Tuong Nguyen bridge No. 343 with 24 meters long, 3 meters wide and total cost of 280 million VND in My Tuong village, Thien Trung commune, Cai Be district.

In Long An, beside the inauguration of Tuong Nguyen bridges No. 351, 352 and 353 in Thanh Phu commune, Thanh Hoa district, the group also conducted free eye surgeries for 100 people with cataracts at the Southwest hospital with a total budget of 2.25 billion VND.

In Ben Tre province, the charity group has held groundbreaking ceremonies to build new Tuong Nguyen bridges No. 354, 355 and 356 in Ngai Dang commune (Mo Cay Nam district), Tan Binh and Hoa Loc communes (Mo Cay Bac district).
