On June 26-27, the Clergy Affairs Committee under the Vietnam Buddhism Sangha (VBS) organized its conference 2015 at Bai Dinh pagoda in Ninh Binh province with the theme “The Management of Buddhist clergy affairs: current situation, challenges and solutions”.
Attending the conference were Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Deputy Secretary of the VBS Discernment Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Chairman of the VBS Executive Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council; Members of the Central VBS Executive Council, and representatives from the Central VBS Clergy Affairs Committee, the provincial VBS Clergy Affairs Board from provinces across the country.
Distinguished guests at the event included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Phạm Dũng.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phạm Dũng highly acknowledged the VBS’s contributions to the promotion of national and religious unity in the country. He also expressed his hope that the VBS would further consolidate its organization at all levels and pay more attention to the Buddhist nuns throughout the country./.
