National Assembly to elect Prime Minister on April 5

At the 11th session that will open on March 24, the National Assembly will secretly vote to dismiss the President, Prime Minister, and Chair of the National Assembly and elect and approve many state leaders.  

At the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee to comment on the content and agenda of the 11th National Assembly session on March 15, National Assembly Secretary General Nguyễn Hạnh Phúc said that the 11th session will take place from March 24 through April 8.

Most of the time NA deputies will focus on personnel tasks, which is expected to start on March 30.

The National Assembly will secretly vote to dismiss the National Assembly Chair Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân on March 30. The new National Assembly Chair will be elected the next day, March 31.

On April 1, the National Assembly will secretly vote to elect the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly. On the same day, the National Assembly will dismiss President Nguyễn Phú Trọng by secret ballot.

On the morning of April 2, the National Assembly will elect the new President by secret ballot. The new President will take the oath as soon as the Vote Counting Committee announces the results of counting votes. On the afternoon of April 2, the National Assembly will secretly vote to dismiss Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc. Shortly thereafter, the President will submit a list of nominations for the National Assembly to elect a new Prime Minister.

The election of the Prime Minister will be held on the morning of April 5. The State President will then submit to the National Assembly to dismiss the Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and Head of the Supreme People's Procuracy.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will submit to the National Assembly to dismiss some members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of some Committees of the National Assembly, the State Auditor General, and the General Secretary of the National Assembly. The vote to dismiss the above positions will be conducted on the afternoon of April 5.

Then, the State President will submit a list of nominations for the National Assembly to elect the Vice President, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, and Head of the Supreme People's Procuracy. The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will submit nominations for the National Assembly to elect a number of members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly. The National Assembly will elect these positions on the morning of April 6 by secret ballot.

The Prime Minister will submit to the National Assembly for approval the dismissal of a number of Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of ministers and other cabinet members, and the National Assembly will hold votes on the same afternoon.

After that, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will submit a list of nominations for the National Assembly to elect the Heads of several Committees of the National Assembly, the State Auditor General, and the General Secretary of the National Assembly.

On the morning of April 7, the National Assembly will vote to elect the Chairman of some Committees of the National Assembly, the State Auditor General, and the General Secretary of the National Assembly.

On the afternoon of April 7, the National Assembly will vote to approve the proposal of the President of the National Election Council on the dismissal of some Vice Presidents and some members of the National Election Council, and ratify the President's proposal for the dismissal of some Vice Presidents and some members of the National Defense and Security Council by secret ballot.

Also on the afternoon of April 7, the Chairman of the National Election Council will submit to the National Assembly for approval a list of a number of Vice Presidents and some members of the National Election Council. The Prime Minister will submit a list for the National Assembly to approve the appointment of a number of Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of ministers and other cabinet members.

On the morning of April 8, the National Assembly will approve the proposal for a list of some Vice Presidents and some members of the National Election Council, the appointment of a number of Deputy Prime Ministers, a number of ministers and other members of the Government by secret ballot. After that, the National Assembly will close.
