Bishop Thomas Vu Dinh Hieu chaired the inauguration and consecration ceremony of Khoai Dong church in Bao Dap vicariate of Bui Chu diocese on Dec. 27.
Attending the event were nearly 40 priests and over 500 Catholic followers in the Bui Chu diocese.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Ngọc Tấn visited and presented congratulatory flowers to Bui Chu diocese on Dec. 26.
On behalf of the diocese, Bishop Thomas Vu Dinh Hieu expressed his thanks to the Government, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and local authorities for due attention extended to the construction of a spacious church in the diocese.
Khoai Dong church was built by the Spanish Dominican priest in 1934. With the completion of its restoration, the new church would now be able to meet religious needs for nearly 300 Catholics in the parish.
