Mr. Nguyễn Văn Tuấn, Chairman of Nam Dinh province People’s Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were also Lt. Gen. Tô Lâm, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, leaders from local authorities; representatives from the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Bui Chu diocese, the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) and more than 300 typical religious dignitaries, deacons and followers proactively participating in the movement.

In recent years, under the leadership and guidance of local authorities, the movements, such as “people protecting national security at Catholic regions in the new situation” and “all people protecting national security in religious regions” have been implemented effectively and creatively, contributing to maintenance of public security and political stability.

 During the implementation, local authorities focused on building a strong key force in the “all people protecting national security in religious regions” movement; enhanced state administrative efficiency regarding religion, mobilized the strength of the national unity bloc and religious unity; propagated and encouraged followers to well observe the law, actively participate in preventing crimes, combating criminals, ensuring security and order in the province.

To continue the movement “all people protecting national security in religious regions”, local authorities will continue to thoroughly grasp the Party’s viewpoints, State’s policies and laws on religious affairs, the Ordinance on Belief and Religion, religious guiding documents; create positive changes in perception and implementation of the regulations of the State, local authorities regarding religious activities; strengthen collaboration between departments, units in the locality on religious affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Văn Tuấn highly praised the efforts of typical individuals and collectives in the movement and suggested that local authorities will continue to create favorable conditions for religions to conduct activities in accordance with religious Charter and rules and state laws, expand typical models in protecting security and order movements. He also expressed his hope that followers will actively join in activities and movements to promote social economic development. In the innovation process, Nam Dinh province in general and religious regions in particularly achieved  good results in the fields of economic, cultural – social, security – defense. People’s life in religious regions has gradually been improved.

At the meeting, Lt. Gen. Tô Lâm, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security presented certificates and medals of merit to individuals and collectives recording excellent achievements in “all people protecting national security in religious regions” movement (1994 - 2014)./.
