My Tho Cathedral holds spring meeting with local authorities

My Tho diocese Cathedral held a meeting with local authorities in the diocese on February 23 in My Tho city of Tien Giang province.

Attending the meeting were Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho Diocese; Priest Paul Trần Kỳ Minh, the Cathedral’s Vicar General; Priest Paul Trần Chí Thanh, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics and priests from the Cathedral Office and the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics of the provinces of Long An and Dong Thap.

Local authorities at the meeting included representatives from local authorities of three provinces of Tien Giang, Long An and Dong Thap.

Speaking at the meeting, Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm expressed his thank to local authorities of three provinces for their due attention and support extended to pastoral activities of Catholics in the localities. He also pledged to continue guiding Catholic followers to practice the religion in accordance with the laws and encourage them to actively participate in local movements for socio-economic development in the provinces. 

The meeting took place in a joyful and delighted atmosphere, contributing to foster cordial relations between local authorities and the Catholic diocese.
