My Tho Cathedral church presents relief supplies to locals affected by Covid-19

09/22/2021

The Cathedral of My Tho diocese in Tien Giang province’s My Tho City currently has 1,030 Catholic families with 3,360 parishioners and is headed by Priest Jacob Hà Văn Xung.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak and the social distancing imposed in the city since June 2021, a large number of the poor, wage earners, lottery ticket sellers, and unskilled workers have faced severe difficulties due to no source of income. Therefore, Priest Jacob Hà Văn Xung has called on parishioners and other people to present food and other necessities to these disadvantaged people in the locality.

As a result, every day from September 14 to 21, the parish pastoral in collaboration with local authorities presented 300 sets of essential supplies worth at 250,000 VND in total to disadvantaged families.
