Minister of Home Affairs pays homage to late Archbishop of Ho Chi Minh City

 Minister of Home Affairs Lê Vĩnh Tân led a delegation on March 16 to pay his homage to Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc at his funeral held in Ho Chi Minh City’s Notre Dame Cathedral.

Writing in the funeral book, Minister Lê Vĩnh Tân expressed deep condolences to all dignitaries and followers of the Vietnam Catholic Church and the Archbishop’s family, stating that Archbishop Bùi Văn Đọc was a fine example who devotedly cared for the development of Viet Nam Catholic community and the nation, and the Archbishop’s passing away is a great loss to the Roman Catholic Church in general and the Vietnam Catholic Church in particular.

Minister Lê Vĩnh Tân writes his deep thoughts in the funeral book

Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc, Former President of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Vietnam, was born in 1944 in the city of Da Lat in Vietnam’s Central Highlands region. The Archbishop had suffered a sudden stroke and passed away in the hospital in Rome at at 4.15 am on March 7 (Vietnam time) at the age of 74.
