Located about 2 km from the center of the city of Pleiku, Minh Thanh Pagoda has a unique architecture in the central highlands.
Minh Thanh Pagoda was built in 1964 by Most Venerable Thích Giác Đạo on area of 20,000 m2 with both Chinese and Japanese architectural features.
When visiting the pagoda, you can see a nine-story relic tower. There is Amitabha statue of 40 tons weigh and 7.5m high. The main worshipping hall with a height of 16m was made of pomu (type of wood which is well known in the forests of Highland region). Especially, the six entrance doors are made of wood with a thickness of 20 cm and were carved with six bodhisattvas.
The pagoda’s yard is decorated by a small landscape, lake and trees, creating harmony and natural atmosphere in the temple.
Experiencing the changes of history, Minh Thanh Pagoda has been restored several times. The pagoda currently is managed by Venerable Thích Tâm Mãn.
