Minh Su faith in Tien Giang holds year-end meeting

The Minh Su faith’s executive board in Tien Giang province held on January 3 a meeting to review its performance 2018 and approve working plans for 2019.

Attending the event included Reverent Chairman of the Minh Su faith’s Executive Committee Nguyễn Vận Hưng, Reverent Chairman of the Minh Su faith’s Executive Board in Tien Giang province Nguyễn Vận Thông and representatives from eight Buddhist worshipping places in Tien Giang and two places in Long An province.

Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and representatives from local authorities.

As reported at the meeting, in the past year, the Minh Su faith’s Executive Board in the province has recorded many good results in religious and charitable activities including the reconstruction of a Buddhist worshipping temple, another temple recognized as the cultural worshipping place, and 35 dignitaries sent to attend the disseminating conference on the Law on Belief and Religion and its guiding Decree No.162 held by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and local authorities.

In regard to charities, dignitaries and followers of Minh Su faith in the province actively participated in local movements for building charity houses, supporting poor people, presenting scholarships to poor and excellent students, etc, with the total contribution of over VND 700 million.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Trần Văn Khuê praised local dignitaries and followers of Minh Su faith for their contributions to the socio-economic development in the locality over the past year. He also stated to closely work with concerning authorities for creating favorable conditions for religious practices of the Minh Su faith in the province.
