Long Son minor seminary is located in Quang Van village, Phuoc Thuan commune, Binh Dinh province’s Tuy Phuoc district with a Gothic architecture.
Previously, Long Song church was called as Lang Song (Village River) church as it was surrounded by fields and rivers. Over time, as the name sign at the entrance of the church has been faded, the sign has been repainted and corrected to lòng (heart)” instead of “làng village” in accordance to the local pronunciation. Long Song (River Heart) church has become the name of the church until now.
According to history, using the trading road starting from Thi Nai lagoon, Portugal missionaries came to Quy Nhon and built Long Song church. The church held a ceremony to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment in 1964. Long Song minor seminary has stopped operating since 1983, but it is still taken care.
Inside the church
The Church was built with a Gothic architecture, the typical architectural style of Europeans in church and palace construction. The front of the church was decorated with symmetrical frames, pointed arch and the ribbed vault.
