Nun Hạnh Linh, Abbess of Linh Nghĩa pagoda located in Tay Ninh city’s Chau Thanh district have presented 300 gift packages to poor locals, eac package worth VND 400,000.
The charity program took place on occasion of Vu Lan, or Buddhist Parent’s Day Festival (Ullambana) 2017 (B.E. 2561).
Celebrating the festival this year, the pagoda also held on August 20 a solemn ceremony to honor the parents according to Buddhist traditions, with the participation of Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Võ Thành Công, representatives of local authorities and large numbers of Buddhists and local people.
