On September 10th, 2014, at the headquarters of the provincial Party Committee, Mr. Lê Hồng Quang – Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee had a reception with Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho diocese who paid a courtesy visit to leaders of Party Committee and People's Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Tien Giang province.
At the reception, Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm thanked the Party Committee and People's Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Department of Home Affairs and related agencies for its warm welcome and pledged to continue guiding Catholic followers in religious activities, and encourage them to actively participate in local movements contributing to the provincial social – economic development.
On behalf of Tien Giang province’s leaders, Mr. Lê Hồng Quang briefed current social economic situation in the locality and assured the persistent implementation of the consistent policy of the Party and State on religion in general, and Catholicism in particular
