Lady Victory Nguyễn Thị Bích Châu festival to be celebrated in Ha Tinh

The festival to celebrate 640 years of Lady Victory Nguyễn Thị Bích Châu’s death will be held from March 3-8 in Ha Tinh province’s Ky Anh district, according to the district’s People Committee.

Lady Victory Nguyễn Thị Bích Châu, known as King Trần Duệ Tông’s favourite Nguyễn Cơ or Bích Lưu, was born in Nam Dinh region in 1356 and died in 1377. The Lady had great contributions to the country under the reign of King Trần Duệ Tông. She is now worshipped in the temple by her name in Ky Ninh commune, Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province.

The festival aims to honor the merits of Lady Victory Nguyễn Thị Bích Châu, as well as preserve and promote cultural values, educate patriotism for the younger generation and meet spiritual and cultural needs of local  people.

There will be many featured activities during the festival, such as: dragon boats procession on the Vinh river, the procession of holy tablets from the temple, offering incense rituals, release of lighting paper flowers, folk games, sailing, cultural exchanges and a drama recreating the legend of “Kê Minh Thập sách” written by Lady Victory Nguyễn Thị Bích Châu to offer to the King Trần Duệ Tông.
