Kien Giang provincial Committee for Religious Affairs held a meeting on August 13 for the 60th anniversary of the State sector on religious affairs (August 2, 1955 – August 2, 2015) and review of a writing contest “Learning Party’s guideline and State’ policies and laws on religion”.
Local authorities at the event included Chairman of Kien Giang provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Lâm Hoàng Sam, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Hoàng Oanh and Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Danh Phúc.
Meeting participants also included representatives from religious organizations in the locality: the Caodai White Cloth (Bạch Y) Church’s Standing Board, the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee, Catholic Vicariates, the Representative Committees of the General Confederation of Evangelical churches of Vietnam (Southern), the Tay Ninh Caodai Church, the Bright-Verity Way (Cao Đài Minh Chơn Đạo) Caodai Church, Hoa Hao Buddhism and the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics.
The meeting reviewed the 60 history of the State management sector on religion and informed final results of the writing contest.
Chairman of Kien Giang provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Lâm Hoàng Sam presents awards for candidates
Nine religious followers out of 18 individuals and four religious organizations out of five collective units have been awarded different prizes by the organization board. Kien Giang provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee won the first collective prize, Nun Thích nữ Như Chi at Binh Phuoc pagoda in Hon Dat district received the best prize for individual.
