Hoang Phuc Pagoda presents gifts to Van Kieu villagers in Quang Binh

A charity delegation from Hoang Phuc Pagoda located in Quang Binh province’s Le Thuy district organized on November 17 a charity visit to Bach Dan village of Lam Thuy commune in the district. 

The charity delegation was led by Ven. Thích Khải Đạo, Head of the information and communication board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s chapter in Quang Binh cum Superintendent of Hoang Phuc Pagoda.

Bach Dan village is situated in the Vietnam-Laos border and about 60km from the center of Le Thuy district with many difficulties for reaching the village by road. The village has 225 residents, all belonging to the Van Kieu ethnic group and with 73% of them classified as poor.

During the charity visit, the pagoda delegation handed over 60 support packets to 55 most disadvantaged villagers of Bach Dan and five teachers devoting their life for teaching pupils in the mountainous area. Each packet contains 10kg of rice, two life jackets, one box of noodle, one a blanket, one winter jacket, one mosquito net and other necessities.

In addition to the presentation of support worth about VND 50 million, local children received free haircut by members of the charity delegation.

The charity program was implemented in coordination of local authorities.
