According the annual report of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’ Executive Committee in Tien Giang province, the church has contributed over VND 7 billion to social and charitable activities in the province in 2017.
The church’s social charities in 2017 included the constructions of 28 rural bridges and 68 charity houses, offering of 13,140 meals for students and 9,950 meals for patients in hospitals in the province, as well as other supports to Agent Orange victims, poor students and flood victims in Central Vietnam.
According to Head of the Representative Committee under the Hoa Hao Buddhism in Tien Giang province Võ Văn Thượng, the Hoa Hao Buddhist church in the province will continue encouraging its followers participate in social movements launched by provincial authorities for socio-economic development in the locality.
