On May 22, 2014, at An Hoa Tu, Phu My town, Phu Tan district, An Giang, Hòa Hảo Buddhism held the fourth – term General Congress (2014 - 2019) with the participation of 800 Hòa Hảo Buddhism delegates in localities.
The Congress distinguished guests included Mr. Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA), Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice - Chairman of the GCRA, representatives from central and local authorities.
In the third – term, the Central Executive Committee of Hòa Hảo Buddhism focused on strengthening the organizational structure of the Church, improved the quality of assistant boards, established the representative board in 14 provinces and cities and over 391 local executive boards, actively joint in social charity activities and movements in the locality.
In the fourth – term (2014 - 2019), Hòa Hảo Buddhist Church and believers will firmly follow the motto “for Dharma, for the Nation”, promote charity activities, Church’s solidarity and conduct religious activities according to the Charter and State laws
The fourth – term Central Executive Committee (2014 – 2019) consists of 27 members led by Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Đạt as its chairman.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Phạm Dũng Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the GCRA congratulated the new Central Executive Committee of Hòa Hảo Buddhism. Mr. Dũng expressed his hope that the Hoa Hao Buddhism Church will achieve good results in building Church’s solidarity and contributing to unite followers of all religions in the great all – nation unity bloc.
