Ho Chi Minh city: Caodai dignitaries comment on environmental protection, climate change adaptation

On September 29th, at Ho Chi Minh city, the Standing Committee of the central Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) in coordination with Caodai sects held a meeting to gather comments for the organization of a conference on religion’s role in protecting environment and responding to climate change which is expected to be held in Hue city in November this year.
The meeting was chaired by Vice President of the VFF Lê Bá Trình, and attended by Director Eivind Archer of the Nordic Assistance to Vietnam, representatives from 11 Caodai Churches.
At the meeting, the VFF informed about a proposed coordinating program between the VFF, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and religions on environmental protection and climate change adaptation, with contents reflecting the current pollution situation, environmental degradation and climate change in the globe and Vietnam; as well as highlighting roles and commitments of religions in these issues…
