Ho Chi Minh city: An Phu Dong Protestant Church makes its debut

An Phu Dong Protestant Church in Ho Chi Minh city made its debut at a ceremony held on Jan 17.

Attending the ceremony were Pastor Phan Vĩnh Cự, Chairman of the General Confederation of Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (Southern) (ECVN), pastors, evangelists and deacons from several churches in the locality.

At the ceremony, Protestant dignitaries and followers performed together worshipping rituals and recalled the establishment process of the Church. Accordingly, in 2009, Ho Chi Minh city Committee for Religious Affairs granted a religious registration certificate to An Phu Dong Protestant meeting group. In April, 2014, An Phu Dong Protestant meeting group was recognized by the ECVN Executive Committee as its member which later approved by the city authorities on December, 2014.
