On February 14, Cardinal Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn chaired a thanksgiving ceremony at Hanoi Cathedral on occasion of his one-year reception of Cardinal title.
Attending the event included the Cathedral auxiliary bishop, priests and a large number of Catholic followers.
Cardinal Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn has been promoted as the 6th Cardinal of the Vietnam Catholic Church and the 4th Cardinal of Hanoi Catholic Archdiocese.
On the occasion, Cardinal Peter Nguyễn Văn Nhơn also presided over a ritual of Quadragesima (Vegetarian season) - a season of 40 days following the example of Jesus who lived in the wilderness to face and win temptations.
