A preparatory meeting for the Buddha’s Birthday festival and Summer retreat course 2016 (B.E. 2560) was held on April 22 by Ha Tinh provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Cam Son Pagoda.
Attending the meeting included Venerable Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Chiếu Tuệ and dignitaries from the VBS Executive Board in the province’s 12 districts. Representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs also joint the event.
The meeting discussed and approved the time frames for the Buddha’s Birthday. Accordingly, the festival will take place from May 14 to 21 with many celebrating activities, including art performances, Buddhist preaching, prayers for peace, requiem ceremony and charitable activities.
The festival week will be opened at Den Pagoda in Ky Anh Town and closed at Pho Do Pagoda in Loc Ha District.
