Can Loc district in the Central province of Ha Tinh currently has approximately 10,000 followers of Catholicism, with four parishes.
Over the past years, Catholic followers in the district have actively participated in programs and campaigns launched by local authorities for promoting social unity, rural development.
As reported at the 7th general conference on Catholics’ contributions to national construction and defense in the district held on October 25, for the past five years Catholic people in the district have contributed hundreds of thousand working days and 72,000m2 of land for construction of 95m of local roads, 35 km of farm canals, 26 local cultural centers worth tens of billion VND.
In addition, Catholics in the district donated 4.6 billion VND for building 136 houses for poor families in the 2012-2017 period.
