According to traditional customs of the Cham Brahman, there are annual festivals in three temples and towers in Ninh Thuan province to honor ancestors and pray for rain in order to bring bumper crops and good health.
This year, the Council of Cham Brahman Dignitaries in Ninh Thuan have planned the schedule to organize festivals at three temples of Po Klaung Garai, Po Rame and Po Inu Nugar.
The expected schedule is as follows: the rain praying ritual on July 26-28 (early of the fourth month of Cham calendar), the Kate festival on November 16-18 (early of the seventh month of Cham calendar), the worshiping ceremony of Goddess Mother of the Land on December 29 (the end of the ninth month of Cham calendar), and the ceremony for opening entrances of towers on February 16th, 2021 (early of the eleventh month of Cham calendar).
Four traditional festivals have the same order of rituals, but with differences in meaning, characteristics and the organization scale, in which Kate festival brings together the beauty of community activities and most popular folklore performances of the Cham Brahman culture.
