Evangelical churches in Vietnam join hands in fighting against Covid-19

In the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular, many Protestant churches in Vietnam have issued dispatches on preventive measures against the covid-19 to all of their sub-ordinate chapters and followers  

The evangelical churches included the Vietnam Evangelical Churches of Vietnam (North) and (South), Vietnam Mennonite Church, United World Mission Church and Vietnam Later-Day Saints of Jesus Christ Church, etc are amongst Protestant churches that responded to the epidemic.

Accordingly, these churches have asked all of their chapters and congregations to raise the awareness of members on preventing measures against the spread of Covid-19 epidemic.

The churches asked the chapters and congregation to scale down religious services. During religious services and other gathering need to fully comply with personal hygiene requirements including facemasks and disinfection as well as avoid close contacts with people who have symptoms of Covid-19.

Leaders of local Protestant churches are requested to work closely with local authorities and health authorities to timely inform suspected cases. When followers have signs of infection (such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, etc.), they should be guided to the nearest health center for inspection and support, as well as strictly implement advisories by the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the Protestant churches also asked each of their members to provide accurate and honest information on their health situation and current developments of Covid-19 epidemic in their residential areas. Protestants are asked to update the epidemic on the official channels of competent agencies and not spread inaccurate information about the epidemic.
