Ethnic cultural village to host activities welcoming New Year

Son Tay town on the outskirts of Hanoi will host an array of activities between January 1 and January 3 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism to celebrate the New Year 2022.

A programme aimed at introducing brocade products of ethnic groups will be held during the occasion to allow visitors to learn more about the craft.

Guests will also have the chance to experience the cotton weaving craft of the Ba Na ethnic group in Gia Lai province.

As part of the event, the various traditions of the Ta Oi ethnic group in Thua Thien-Hue province will be re-enacted in the village to celebrate the New Year.

In particular, the village will also be hosting a food area which aims to introduce the various cuisine of each ethnic group to visitors. Besides art performances from the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre are expected to enthrall audiences.

Upon arrival to the village, guests have the chance to join in the activities, including playing folk games and making traditional cakes./.
