On December 28, the Protestant representative committee in Lam Dong province elected its new committee for 2016-2017 tenure at a conference held in Bon Rơm Church in the province.
The conference was presided over by Pastor Member of the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (ECVN) (South) Kon Să Ha Hăck and attended by Pastor First Vice President of the Church Thái Phước Trường, pastors from the ECVN (South), members of the Protestant representative committee in Lam Dong province and about 300 dignitaries and deacons in the locality. Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Văn Đức and local authorities’ representatives also joint the event.
The election conference selected the five-member representative committee in the province for 2016-2017 tenure with Pastor Cil Múp Ha Kar as its Chairman, and Pastors K’Soi, K’Brọp, Nguyễn Việt and Võ Đông Tiên as the committee members.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Ngô Văn Đức expressed his hope that the new committee members in 2016-2017 tenure would continue to encourage followers actively participating in movements launched by local authorities, strengthen the national unity bloc, and practice religious under the motto “Living with the Gospel, Worshipping God, Serving the Fatherland and the Nation”.
On this occasion, Chairman Ngô Văn Đức also presented the Home Affairs Ministry’s certificate of merit to the Protestant representative committee and a certificate of merit of the Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs to Pastor Cil Múp Ha Kar for outstanding achievements in 10 years implementing Directive No. 01/2005/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on some tasks regarding Protestantism (2005-2015).
