Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hoà Bình on September 1 attended a scholarship granting ceremony for disadvantaged Cham and China students in Ward 8, Ho Chi Minh City on occasion of the new academic year.
During the ceremony, Deputy PM Trương Hòa Bình presented 180 scholarships and 15 bicycles to disadvantaged Cham and China pupils and students from the primary school to university level in the city, with a total value of over VND 300 million.
On the same day, Deputy PM Trương Hòa Bình and sponsors handed over two charity houses and 14 motorcycles to poor families in Long An province’s Can Giuoc district and three motorcycles to Tan Kim commune People’s Committee.
In addition, he also presented 800 T-shirts to pupils of the secondary schools of Nguyen An Ninh and Ho Van Long in Long An province’s Can Giuoc district.
