Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng extends Christmas visits to Catholic dignitaries

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng has paid visits to offices of dioceses in provinces Tien Giang, Thua Thien Hue and Nghe An, ahead of Christmas 2022.

Accompanying the Deputy Minister included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Tiến Trọng, Head of the GCRA’s Southern Religious Affairs Trà Quang Thanh, Director of the GCRA’s Catholic Affairs Department Đinh Quang Tiến and representatives from provinces of Tien Giang, Thua Thien Hue and Nghe An. 

The delegation visited My Tho diocese in Tien Giang, Hue Archdiocese in Thua Thien Hue and Vinh diocese in Nghe An.

Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh of Hue, Bishop Peter Nguyễn Văn Khảm of My Tho and Bishop Alfonso Nguyễn Hữu Long of Vinh warmly welcomed the Deputy Minister.

Speaking with the Catholic digntariess during the visits, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng extended merry Christmas to all Catholic dignitaries and parishoners of the dioceses. 

The home affairs official spoke highly of practical contributions in fields of health, education, and charities made by religious organizations in general and the Catholic Church in particular.

The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the Bishops and other Catholic dignitaries would continue guiding their members to conduct religious practices in accordance with the law and proactively engage in social charities, practically contributing to the socio – economic development of the localities.
