Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng receives Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association delegation

Deputy Minister of the Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted on August 20 a reception for a visiting delegation of the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association led by Rev. Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh, Chairman of the association’s central executive committee.
Joining the reception included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Nguyễn Ánh Chức.

Speaking with the guests, while welcoming the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist delegation, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng spoke highly of practical efforts of the Buddhist association in implementing state policies & laws, launching and contributing to medical charity with herbal treatments, and environmental protection & climate change adaptation. The home affairs official also extended congratulations to the success of the 4th national congress of the Vietnam Pure–land Buddhist Association for the 2024-2029 term, and asked the association’s central executive committee to continue promoting patriotic traditions and making practical contributions for socio-economic development of the country.

While appreciating the Deputy Minister’s welcome, Rev. Nguyễn Ngọc Ánh shared with the host the social and medical charities made by the association over the past years. As reported, in the 2019-2024 tenure, the Central Executive Committee of the Pure–land Buddhist Association and the executive board of its chapters have spent over 2.4 billion VND on the social and medical charities.
