Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry Vũ Chiến Thắng paid a visit on October 12 to Ho Chi Minh city Archdiocese which hosted the annual meeting of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV).
Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng, accompanied by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Ánh Chức and Chairman of the municipal Religious Committee Nguyễn Duy Tân, was warmly welcomed by Archbishop President of the CBCV Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh and members of the CBCV.
Speaking during a visiting reception, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng hailed practical contributions made by the Catholic community in socio-economic development achievements over the past years and said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, the CBCV have timely mobilized followers to join hands in fight against the pandemic
The State will always create favorable conditions for religious organizations, including Catholicism to promote their resources, Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng stated.
The Deputy Minister expressed hope that the CBCV would continue closely joining hand with state authorities and people for prosperous and sustainable development in the country.
The annual meeting of the CBCV has been taking from 12 to 16 October in the pastoral centre of Ho Chi Minh Archdiocese.
