As informed by the Da Nang city Committee for Religious Affairs on February 13, the municipal authorities have instructed relevant departments to enhance the state administration on belief.
In the written instruction responding to a guidance issued by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs on the state administration on belief and based on realities of belief practices in Da Nang city, the municipal People’s Committee assigned the Department of Construction to consider approving the new construction and restoration of belief worshipping places in the city in order to meet the legitimate needs of local people based on land resources in the city.
The instruction also asks for prevention and strict sanctions of illegal constructions of belief worshipping places by private individuals.
The Department of Culture and Sports was asked to closely work with the Department of Home Affairs for checking the implementation of the state laws and the civilized lifestyles in belief practices at belief worshipping places.
The municipal authorities also assigned the city Committee for Religious Affairs to coordinate with the Department on Culture and Sports for checking the registration of belief practices in the locality, the election of heads of the worshipping places, the restoration and new construction of belief establishments, the donation and management of properties of belief establishments not classified as cultural heritages, etc.
