The 2019 culture festival of minority ethnic groups in Moc Chau district will be held from August 31 to September 4 in Son La province’s Moc Chau district.
This festival originated from the Independence Festival by H’mong people for celebrating the National Independence Day in the country since Vietnam declared its independence from France in September 2,1945.
For preserving and promoting traditional-ethnic culture, the Moc Chau district authorities recently decided to name the H’mong Independence Festival as the annual festival of minority ethnic groups in the district.
Traditional activities performed by ethnic people
This year, cultural festival will feature series of activities including an art program for introducing the culture of ethnic people in Moc Chau district, singing and Beauty contests, and performances of traditional music and dance in main streets in Moc Chau district.

In addition, the festival will offer visitors a chance to discover the traditional cuisine, customs, handicraft and agricultural products of ethnic minority groups in the locality through cultural camps.
