Correction Path Caodai Church celebrates Pope Nguyen Ngoc Tuong’s birthday

The Correction Path Caodai Church solemnly celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of Pope Nguyễn Ngoc Tương at a ceremony held on June 29 at Ben Tre Holy See in Ben Tre province.

The event saw participation of representatives of the Ante-Creation Caodai Church, the Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church, and over 1000 Caodai dignitaries, deacons and followers inside and outside the province. Representatives of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and local authorities also joint the event.

As historically recorded, the Correction Path Caodai Church has made important contributions to the patriotic wars for national independence and unification, with 1,300 of its followers recognized as fallen soldiers including Martyr Nguyễn Ngọc Nhựt - a son of Pope Nguyễn Ngọc Tương, and 39 of its adherents granted the title “Vietnamese heroic mother”.

In addition, the Vietnamese State presented many precious titles to the Correction Path Caodai Church and its followers, including the second-class Resistance War Medal to the Church, the first-class Medal of Anti-American Resistance War to Religious Reformer Huỳnh Văn Phùng in Long An province, the first-class Medal of Anti-French Resistance War and the third-class Independence Medal to late Cardinal Tô Văn Pho.
