The Chrism Mass with the main rite of anointing with holy oil was solemnly held at Phu Cam Cathedral under Hue Archdiocese on the Holy Thursday (March 29).
The event was chaired by Archbishop President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh.
According to the tradition of the Catholic Church, each diocese of church holds the rite holy oil once a year at the Chrism Mass with the participation of all priests of each diocese.
On this occasion, the priests of the archdiocese also joined in a rite of repeating the words that Jesus spoke at the Last Supper.
