Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh of Hue Archdiocese, who currently serves as President of the Vietnam Catholic Bishops’ Conference, presided the Chrism Mass on Holy Thursday (April 1).
Attending the mass included Former Archbishop of Hue Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng and all priests of Hue.
During the mass, Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh performed the Rite for oil blessings, and priests reaffirmed their ministry by renewing the promises made at their ordination.
During the part of the Chrism Mass called the Rite of Reception of the Oils, representatives from archdiocesan parishes received the three blessed oils of Oil of Chrism, Oil of catechumens, and Oil of the Sick, for uses in the sacraments throughout the year.
